Exotikka The Indian Kitchen Review

If you are one of a midnight cravers then this place is the one you must definitely try out!

ABOUT THIS PLACE-
Exotikka the Indian kitchen is situated in the busy suburbs of Khar west and serves veg and non-veg Indian delicacies. They concentrate more upon deliveries and have converted their front space into a casual dining space with four tables. If you want a tasty meal high on quality and light on your pocket then this place is a must visit.

LOCATION-
5th road, Ram Krishna nagar, Khar west. It is a 5 minutes walk from Khar west railway station and Swami Vivekanand (S.V.) road.

FOOTFALL-
This place is mainly visited and ordered by residential people and the business class people working in the vicinity of this outlet. They are also visited by the college going crowd of SMT.M.M.K. College nearby. They mostly receive delivery orders and hence this place is less crowded during the lunch hours. However the footfall increases during the evenings. If you want to enjoy a peaceful meal then we would recommend visiting this place for lunch.

DÉCOR –
Since they concentrate more on home deliveries the dining area of this place is pretty small. However it is well decorated and maintained. The interiors are monochromatic and with colourful table top tiles. This place has simple and neat décor favourable for a fun meal. It looks beautiful when all lights are lit up in the evening.

STAFF-
We were warmly greeted by Mr. Rakesh***. He made sure that everything went on smoothly during our visit. He was a very friendly and a polite person and their team worked really well to make sure that all their customers were satisfied. The service was prompt and the dishes were also well served.

Things that we tasted-
Sliders – Chicken slider and the Veg slider
Starters – Chicken Kalamiri tikka
Main course – Chicken Patiala with Butter Naan and Butter Kulcha
Chicken Bombay Masala Biryani
Dessert - Moong Dal Halva

CHICKEN SLIDER
·         It is a dish having spicy chicken gravy stuffed between cheese naan breads.
·         The chicken was well cooked and the spices going into the dish left a very nice aftertaste.
·         The dish was well presented along with green chutney.
·         The chutney was spicy and perfectly complimented the dish.

VEG KADAI SLIDER
·         The stuffing had fresh finely chopped veggies in zesty gravy.
·         The veggies were well cooked and there were no big pieces of vegetables which disturbed the consistency of the stuffing.
·         The Naan extraordinarily complemented the stuffing and was one of the best sliders that we ever had.

CHICKEN KALAMIRI TIKKA
·         The dish was very well presented dish with carved beetroot and spicy onion rings
·         The chicken was tender and was well marinated with spices which could be tasted after our first bite.
·         The dish as a whole tasted good and would say was a safe dish to order when confused.

CHICKEN PATIALA WITH BUTTER NAAN AND KULCHA
·         This famous Punjabi dish had tandoori chicken coated with green gravy.
·         On the top it had a layer of red gravy which tasted good and went well with the green gravy.
·         A layer of egg was sandwiched between the green and the red gravy.
·         Both the layers individually tasted good and had a distinctive taste of their own even after having them together.
·         The layer of egg could have been slightly thinner so that we could enjoy the flavour of the gravies more.
·         However the dish as a whole tasted good and one would surely be satisfied on ordering this dish.
·         The butter naan and kulcha were crunchy and went well with chicken Patiala.

 CHICKEN BOMBAY MASALA BIRYANI
·         It’s a typical Biryani served with Chef’s special Bombay masala and fresh raita.
·         This was one of the best selling dishes from this outlet
·         The chicken was well cooked and was tender.
·         The Chef’s special masala is made with a tomato and onion base and chef’s special ingredient.
·         The Biryani had rich flavours and tasted extremely well with the Chef’s special masala.
·         The raita served was thick and fresh and taste good alongside the biryani.

MOONG DAAL KA HALWA
·         The moong daal ka halwa had a rich texture and was garnished with finely chopped dry fruits.
·         It tasted good and is a perfect choice to finish a fulfilling meal.

2FOODFREAKS VERDICT:
The sliders were the star dishes of the meal. They are a must try when you visit this place. All other dishes tasted really nice. The quality of ingredients going into the food served here were not compromised.
