Patch of Sky

Patch of Sky, a tiny little restaurant in Hotel Aureole is a place that promises excellent ambiance and roof top. The place is kind of small but it has a lovely pool and yes, the ambiance was awesome. This place is a great one if you want to chill by the pool, have a few mocktails and just unwind. The music is a wee bit loud, service is decent.

Let’s get to the food:

1.       Bloody Mary: This is a tomato based drink. It is thick and basically tastes like tomato puree. It is a miss. We didn’t like it. Add to the fact that the rim was covered in huge granulated salt, it wasn’t too appetizing!

2.       Guava Mary: The drink was tasty, but again, the salt manipulated with the flavour heavily. But without the salt, the drink was pretty decent.

3.       Indian Mini Cracker Platter: This is basically three types of papads paired with three different chutneys. This was the explanation given to us by the manager. We actually loved the platter. The crackers were crispy and the chutneys were fresh. We loved the chutneys a lot! All three of them were finger licking good! A bit too pricey, but delicious none the less!

4.       Cottage Cheese and Sweet Pepper Stick: This is a dish to be ordered if you are watching your weight. The veggies are partially cooked but they are delicious. The paneer is soft and tasty. We liked the presentation and the taste. It wasn’t something with extraordinary flavours. It is a basic starter with light, raw flavours. Quantity needs to be improved though!

5.       Ricotta & Orange Tortellini Saffron Aioli: This dish tastes the best if consumed immediately. We found that if you have it cool, it might not taste that good. The combination will be a hit or miss, we kind of liked it.

6.       Chinese Fantasy Sizzler: The sizzler is good and filling, but it lacks the flavours. It isn’t spicy and has mild flavours. The Manchurian balls were delectable but the rice and noodles could do with some more flavour.

7.       Foursome Cheese Burst Pizza: This is a very thin crust pizza with oodles of cheese and few veggies. The pizza again was bland. It mainly tasted of the base and cheese. The sauce had absolutely no flavour.

8.       Mirchi Paratha layered with Paneer Khurchan & Roast Garlic Bread: This is a dish that you should definitely try! First off, the presentation is too good. The dish looks small but it is very filling. The quantity of paneer is generous. The taste is just too good. The mirchi paratha does have a nice mirchi taste to it. We couldn’t spot where the roast garlic bread was. But overall, this one is a must try!

9.       Mega Chocolate Balloon: The presentation is too good, but overall the dessert is okay. It has chocos, brownies, gems, marshmallows, chocolate bars in the dessert. A great dessert to share with your friends though, but not a wholesome dessert. We needed something that binded the dessert together.

10.   Waffles: Do try this one out! They have the yummiest ice cream, cherries, toasted crispy hazel nuts, pineapple and the waffle! This is what we call a wholesome dessert. Everything complimented each other and the overall taste was just too good!
