Hello foodies!
Today’s review will be on another Café that centers it’s
theme around ‘Chai’, but not as much as ‘Tea Trails’. We got an invite to visit
Chaayos for the launch of their new menu, so we headed there on a Sunday
Evening. This location is easy to find and it has indoor as well as outdoor
seating. The place is nice to hang out with your buddies and binge on delicious
snacks and drinks.

Let’s see what all we hogged the other day!
1.
Kulhad
Matar Kulcha: This dish is supposed to be an ‘Amritsari’
classic. Our host recommended this dish to us so we ordered it. It comes with
two soft and fluffy buttery kulchas along with sprouts. The sprouts are served
in kulhads which is nothing but earthen pots. The chana masala was delicious! It was a very different dish for
us but we fell in love with how delicious the kulchas were. They were super
soft and the butter at the top just added an extra something to them! Yummy!

2.
Kala
Chana Chaat: This is a tangy twist to the roadside
chana chaat that you get. It has the added zesty flavor of the lemon that is
such a lovely burst of flavor. It is a very healthy dish and tasty too at the
same time. It’s a very simple dish, but made well.

3.
Aam
Panna Iced Tea: The mango season is here and so we had to
order two mango based drinks. This is a raw mango based iced tea. It has all
the flavours that we love. It’s sweet, it’s spicy and it’s tangy. Add some ice
cubes and you are sorted. It’s a nice option to go for and we liked the drink.
Our only recommendation would be to cut down on the sugar in the drink.

4.
Pineapple
Strawberry Iced Tea: Now this is an unusual combination for
us. We’ve had a lot of pineapple based drinks, but never a pineapple and
strawberry one. But this was super refreshing and delicious! It had a burst of
pineapple as you sip and then later on you taste the mild strawberry flavor.
This had proper amount of sweetness to it. It was slightly tangy and the two
flavors make an awesome medley!

5.
Palak
Patta Crispies: This is what we call an intelligent dish.
If you go to see it is such a simple dish, but just slightly twisted to get
this amazing riot of flavors. What it is, is basically your fried palak added
with tamarind and mint chutney, topped off with onions and sev. How simple is
that? But super delicious and crispy. The fried palak patta were so thin and
crispy that provided an amazing crunch to the dish. We loved it! It is a must
order guys!

6.
Fresh
Mango Shake: Here comes our second mango based drink
for the night! It looked very promising but alas! It wasn’t. We thought it
would be an alphanso mango based drink, but it was some other variety of mango.
The drink wasn’t sweet enough. But it was thick and creamy. We liked it, but we
did not love it.

Fruit
Factory Cake: This is a tea cake and will go really well
with a nice cuppa tea. It was soft and moist. The texture was on point. It had
a lot of dry fruits in it and also slight coconut flavor. The cake is yummy and
if you love sponge cakes, you will love this one too.

8.
Sicilian
Chicken Sandwich: By this time we were full but our host for
the day forced this dish on us! Hihi.. So this is a chicken sandwich but a
different one. The flavours were different but so good. The bread was different
and super soft. The bread had amazing buttery flavor that we loved. It is a
great option for snacking.

9.
Bun
Omlette: This is supposed to be their ‘Best selling’
dishes and we could see why. The dish is simple, but well made. The flavours
are on point and tastes super yum when you have it hot. The egg doesn’t taste
as good it is cold. The flavours just disappear.

10.
Mint
Lemonade: Now to wash down all the food we ordered lemonade.
When you hog so much, you need a lemon based drink to cleanse your palate. The
lemonade was good and had a dominant mint flavor. The drink is a classic and
you can’t go wrong with it.

Overall, our host was super awesome and friendly. He
asked our opinion from time to time and recommended dishes according to our
taste buds. The place is nice with outdoor and indoor seating. Service is good,
ambience is good too. We loved our time spent here!

We’d recommend Palak Patta Crispies, Pineapple Strawberry
Iced Tea and Kulhad Matar Kulcha just for the delicious kulchas!
