Earth Cafe Review
Earth Café,
previously known as Summer Garden is a very earthy, rustic, pet-friendly café in
the bylanes of Powai. Our host Tejaswi, also the chef, introduced us to lovely
food and beverages which are made from the hand-picked wholesome ingredients!
Let’s see
what they had to offer!
Beverages:
1. Yogi: This drink is made from
frozen bananas and dates. There is no added sugar which makes it a very healthy
option to drink. It is filling since is it quite thick in consistency. It is
also grainy and not smooth because of the dates. This drink was served at room
temperature, but would taste fabulous if served chilled, especially on a hot
summer evening! Nonetheless, it is a great option for those who want to try
something purely healthy!
2. Wonderfully Hydrating:
Watermelon is our go-to fruit when we have to pick up a drink and this was just
wonderful as the name says! Again, no added sugar which makes the drink less sweet
but it is very healthy and refreshing! The wooden straw adds to the rustic theme
of the café! Again, one or two more ice cubes would have been fantastic!
Appetizers:
1. Avo toast: This was a lovely mashed avocado toast with some greens,
cheese and cherry tomato. It is a good option for the ones that want to opt for
healthier appetizers!
2. Bean Tacos: The tacos were crispy and yummy, just how they looked! They
look small but mind you, they are filling!
3. Chicken Shwarma Burger: A genius concept that all the meat loves would enjoy!
This burger was on our mind ever since we glanced up at the menu! It is
perfection! Burger+shwarma is a match made in food heaven! You must try it!
Also, they come with sweet potato cubes which are delicious and wholesome!

Mains:
1. Pepper Chicken, Sukka Mutton, Andhra Prawn on Malabar
Parotha: These
are like open tacos or open franky if you may say so. So basically it is a mini
parotha which has the filling on top. Our favorite was the pepper chicken one!
2. Penne in Paprika cream sauce: One can never go wrong with pasta
and garlic bread to accompany it. This was just as lovely! The sauce wasn’t too
rich neither to boring. It had many veggies in it. The pasta was really good! The
bread was crispy and not at all soggy with butter but it did have a hint of
buttery goodness which tasted delicious!
3. Panko Fish and Chips: Soft fish cakes coated in panko bread crumbs and
fried. It has a crispy coating and soft, well cooked meat! Even this dish came
with the same sweet potato cubes. Again, a very yummy dish!
Dessert:
1. Sticky Toffee Pudding: There’s always room for dessert if you ask us! This
was the best dessert we had after Pickle & Pint and we were so relieved to
eat this! It was mind blowing! The toffee sauce was out of the world and so was
the moist cake. If only they had served more ice cream with it but nonetheless,
it was the star dish of the meal! You MUST try it if you have a sweet tooth
like we do!
