Hope you all are fit and fine! Today’s review is based
on a place that is so aesthetically pleasing along with some really good food! We
got an invite to try out the menu for The American Joint, and looking at the
pictures, we couldn’t say no. You see why, very soon.

The USP of this place, apart
from the amazing interiors is the food. The owners of this
place have abide by one simple philosophy which is to offer and serve real
food with real taste.

The American Joint is situated in the bylanes of Borivali and is a very huge place. It has one floor above the ground and the interiors just make for an amazing hang out place.

The ambiance is incredible. They also
have comic books handy so if you just want to kill some time, order a cooler
and catch up on some comics here. We’ll provide you more information about this
place at the end of our review, but without any further ado, let’s get to what we ate here!

| Aesthetics on point! |
1.
Creamy Tomato Basil Soup:
Now, one of us hates tomato soup and the other one loves it. But this one was
just so good that we both fell for it. The crutons were big and had the most
delicious cheese spread on it. The soup was thick and you can see the real
tomato pulp in it. It tasted so yummy and delicious! The soup was very filling
and apart from the crutons, very healthy as well.

Garlic Bomb Cheese Bread: This is a twist to the regular cheesy garlic
bread you could say. The bread was shaped like balls and they had cheese
melting all over the dough balls. This dish looked great and full marks on the
presentation. The bread was soft and fresh and the cheese and sauce were
good. The dish did not have an
overpowering taste of garlic but could have done with a little bit more of that
flavor. The concept is nice.

Frypenos: We
wanted to try this ever since we saw the menu. These are so yummy that you wouldn’t
want to stop eating them! The fried fritters are every cheese lover’s dream
come true! And the masala ranch dip was like match made in food heaven! You got
to try this one! It was creamy and just too good!

Cookies n Crème Oreo Shake:
Now, can we talk about Instagrammable desserts? This one sure is! The shake was
super thick and had the decadence of chocolate. The cream on top tasted exactly
like the cream of an oreo. One of us loves oreos, so this shake was the
ultimate oreo shake! This one is meant for sharing because it is so thick and
luxe that you can’t finish it all by yourself!

Watermelon Lime Spritzer:
This one is by far the best cooler we’ve had! It’s got the freshness of the
lime and the sweetness of the watermelon. There’s a tiny dash of mint which
takes this drink from being good to the best. We only wish they served us this
drink chilled. But none the less, this one cooled us down instantly.

Mountain O Nachos:
Can you believe we never had cheesy nachos ever? This was our first but oh my,
this was out of this world delicious! One of the FoodFreak doesn’t like nachos
and this one too did not change the opinion on nachos. But the queso cheese
sauce was heavenly! Plus the added bonus of having black olives ,
spring onions, tomatoes, charro beans, and jalapenos!
Yummy in our tummy! They make the corn tortillas in house by the way.

Organic Burger:
Everything that they prepare here is organic, so next up is the Organic Burger.
It is a huge burger and is a nice snack or meal for two. We could barely finish
the half of it. The patty is delicious made of organic veggies
smashed with herbs and spices. It is served with spicy Harissa aioli &
fries. The patty is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.

Pineapple Julep:
This again is a nice cooler and a different one. This is tangy and sour because
it is made out of pineapple, orange juice, sparkling
water, mint, ginger and lemon. This has more of an orange and lemon flavor but
the pineapple, mint and ginger hit you just a bit later. The concoction is
delicious and different.

Lemonade Stand:
This is your regular nimbu pani and we ordered this to wash down all the food
we ate. It was freshly squeezed and a nice refreshing drink.

Ferrero Nutella Mousse:
This is not your regular mousse mind you. This one is thicker and decadent.
This one is a signature chocolate mousse made with Ferrero Rocher. It is just
out of this world delicious! What a perfect ending to a perfect meal! Got to
try this one out, dessert lovers! It’s thick and smooth, its chocolatey, has
Ferreros in it, what more do you need?

Overall, we really loved this place. The food was
awesome, the interiors are just soothing. The presentation of all the dishes
was on point and it is a great place to take pictures for your social media!
Our ambience was successfully ruined by a bunch of ladies cackling and enjoying
their Kitty Party. But still we had such a good time here. This place is just
perfect to hang out with friends, family or your loved one! We were greeted by
Manan, and he was nice and understanding about the cackling ladies situation.
But there was nothing he could do!

Ambience: Ruined by the ladies, but if not, then we'd say 4.5 / 5

The
Borivali outlet covers an overall area of more than 2750 sq. ft. inclusive of
the indoor and the outdoor space. The interiors exhibit a color scheme of white
and green as its primary colors with hues of grey; the tables showcase wooden
textures as accents. They’ve made sure that the whole theme revolves around the
concept of fresh and organic, having various prints and artworks in relation to
the American iconography being hung on the wall along with some subtle Indian
fusion viz. a photo frame of Thor, Superman, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.
They’ve also added 3D artifacts and derived installation using American colors
and objects like baseball bats & baseballs to decorate the walls and give
an American inspiration to it. Here, one will see an interesting play of light
in the space with lovely interesting eye catching pieces throughout the ceiling
and to add more to their concept they’ve added a small library with famous
comics viz. Archies, Asterix, Tarzan and Tintin amongst many others. The
outdoor area of the American Joint showcases an open seating called The Herb
Garden, they will serve customers a variety of ice cream sandwiches, mocktails,
shakes and desserts. It gets its name from the different herb plants that are
growing in this area. These are actually used in their food preparation, as The
American Joint is working towards a Farm-to-Table concept.
The American Joint shall offer you a blend of classic
American plates inspired with characteristic Indian flavors, making sure each
dish is prepared with its natural quotient intact and by using Organic fruits & vegetables. The
scrumptious food served at The American Joint is vegetarian, with a wide
variety of American dishes available. So whether it is a lunch, dinner or just
a plan to chill, this eatery is a felicitous stop.
With
such a unique concept and a futuristic approach this is what the owners had to
say, “The American Joint is a symbol of entrepreneurial and visionary spirit.
It is founded on three basic principles: integrity, sustainability &
family. We believe food should be organically grown, humans should eat what
works for their body, animals should live in their natural habitats free of
fear, and plants should be the majority on this Earth. The closer we are to
mother nature, the closer we are to having a happy, healthy and sustainable
world. And, our restaurant tries to make a positive impact on the environment
in each and every way possible”.
