Charcoal Eats Review
Charcoal Eats has its 18 outlets all over Mumbai serving different varieties of starters, rolls, bites, biryanis, pizzas and some desserts too.
The place is small yet spacious. The decor is simple consisting of many food frames, a sticky note wall with customer experiences and cute little tables.
We were confused seeing the menu for what to order and what not as they have so much options for each category. Finally we ordered and we got all things together. The service was quite fast and everything was served in a box which we loved it. The packaging of everything is very convenient and different. No traditional metal/plastic or glass crockery, here you get food boxed in such a way that you can take it on the go.
Let's talk about food now:
1. Chicken Malai Tikka: We wanted to have something creamy so we called for chicken malai tikka. Boneless pieces of chicken with barely any cream was served. But it was delicious. The chicken pieces were soft and juicy. We do recommend trying it out but don't expect to be super creamy and rich. There's a reason why this Malai tikka wasn't so creamy. It is because the food here is cooked and served in a way that it is easy for you to eat while you are travelling. So they make it less oily to avoid spillage or your hands getting dirty while eating and so.
2. Chicken Seekh Kebab Roll: We would highly recommend this roll as it was just wow. We absolutely loved it! The roll was made from Malabari Paratha with chicken seekh inside it. It was very yummy. You guys can see from the pics how tempting it was.
3. Onion Rings: Onion rings were perfect as they always are. The batter was super crispy and crunch. However, the batter held on to a lot of oil so that was a small bummer. It came with Harissa sauce and the combination of these two was mouth-watering! Again, we do recommend this dish keeping apart the fact that it was a bit too oily.
4. Peri Peri Veg Pizza: Pizzas served here were different. The shape of pizza was square and pizza base was puff pastry instead of a traditional soft, spongy base. The base was very flaky and crispy. Itasted something different because of its base. We liked it but do have it hot.
5. Biryani's: We had Makhani and Afghani Biryani. Both were very good but honestly we liked the Makhani one better. Both the biryanis had boneless pieces of chicken in it. They were served with curd, raita masala and onions. It wasn't oily at all. But we missed the traditional raita instead of instant-raita.
