Modern Juice Centre, Colaba

We love shwarmas and a good chicken burger.
Whilst roaming around the lanes of Colaba, we were very hungry and so we
decided to visit this place. We really wanted to try Arabic food and nothing
beats Modern! We’d blindly suggest going here if you want to have some Arabic
fast. Basically, the burger and shwarmas here have no spicy taste at all, yet
are super delicious. It’s a small stall opposite to Koylas at Colaba.
Chicken for the shwarma.. Slurrp! |
Guys if you like Shawarma which falls under
Lebanese fast food category or food with an Arabic taste then your visit to
this juice center is a must. The reason behind it is that this juice centre has
many Arabic customers visiting there and also ordering from their hotels and
they also have some foreign customers too. What surprised us the most is that
the waiters speak Arabic language so that they can communicate easily with
their Arabic customers and they know English as well! This juice center is also
one of the oldest shawarma serving place.
What we order each time! :) |
Their fast food is not that bland, but yes
it is quite different from what we Indians prefer, aka spicy food! One of us is
a regular here since school days, hence the vast knowledge about this place.
Guys they are not only best at serving
shawarma but chicken burgers too! The chicken Burger will have no veggies, meaning
no onion or tomato slices, but only the chicken patty inside the bun. The patty
is really crispy and delicious even without adding any spices to it. Look at
the picture and you’ll understand!
Two things which we love to order from here
are as follows:
(We’re sure you guys must have already
guessed what we order each time!)
1.
Chicken Shawarma: Best Shawarma
served here!! No one can beat its shawarma! They serve the shwarma in khabus as
well as paratha. We opt for paratha because it goes really very well with the
chicken. It tastes very different from the regular shwarma joints, but we love
to try different tastes!

Absolutely Louuu it! :) |
2.
Chicken Cheese Burger: A very standard
chicken cheese burger. We like to call it the no nonsense burger, because it
comprises of only the patty and a layer of cheese with some fries. No slices of
veggies that you end up removing or dropping while eating the burger. The patty
is really crispy. It might look very plain in the pictures, but give it a go to
know what we are talking about. You have to try it if you like trying out
different tastes. This one goes really well with ketchup.

Meat lover's dream! |
Barely any spices, yet soooooo good! |
3.
Maramari: This is a combination
of Mosambi (Sweet Lime) and Pineapple was very refreshing. We could taste both
the sweet lime and pineapple and we really loved it. Perfect way to beat the
heat!
4.
Masala Milk: Another name for
dry fruit milk. It is a pretty heavy drink and has really good amount of almond
slivers. We liked this because it’s not
too sweet, but not too bland either.

See the almond slivers in there? |
Overall, we always enjoy the food and
juices here at Modern and we definitely recommend this place if you want to eat
something with less (or no) spices. Their menu is pretty pocket friendly and
won’t hurt to try out 2-3 dishes. What we love is the quality of their juices.
Seating is a slight problem here but the service is quick even if there’s a
crowd.
Food: 5 / 5
Service: 4 / 5
Ambience: 2 / 5
VFM: 5 / 5
We recommend trying their chicken shwarma,
chicken cheese burger and juices!
Bon Appetite!

The Occupational English Test (OET) for nurses is a specialized English proficiency exam tailored to the medical field. It is composed of four sub-tests: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, each simulating real healthcare situations. The Writing sub-test challenges candidates to draft patient referral letters using case notes, while the Speaking component involves role-play exercises to evaluate communication skills with patients and healthcare colleagues. Recognized internationally by regulatory healthcare bodies, the OET confirms a nurse’s ability to use English effectively in medical settings. Success in the OET ensures nurses meet stringent language standards, enhancing their career prospects in English-speaking health environments.
