Green Village Cafe Review
Green Village Cafe is one of the Cafe's in Mumbai that aims to serve healthy food that suits pretty much every diet that you can think of. Right from Gluten-free to Keto, they cater to every possible diet and serve healthy, nutritious food. Their bigger aim is to help farmers by directly sourcing fresh fruits and veggies from the local farmers.
The interiors are pretty cool, they are yet to finish decorating it but so far we liked the green theme going on in this cafe. There are real tree branches along with fake leaves every where in this cafe which gives you a tropical forest vibe. There are colourful accents in the form of pillows thrown here and there. It is a medium sized cafe that accommodates about 20-30 people.
Now coming to the food-
1. Minty Soother: This was our companion through the meal. It has a lemony and chat masala taste to it. The presentation is decent. The mint leaves and the tiny bits of lemon make it slightly difficult to sip the beverage, but it is tasty and one can ignore it. The sweetener used here is jaggery which is super thoughtful.
2. Detox Smoothie: We had shots of it as the whole thing is super filling apparently. This smoothie doesn't contain milk as the base like most of the smoothies. The base is water. It has spinach, banana, dates and apple in it. You cannot taste the spinach in the drink at all. The dominant taste is of bananas and a slight hint of apple. It is a good drink, but not that filling as the base is water. The consistency isn't thick and can be easily chugged down. It is quite delicious!
3. Keema Pav: The pav is obviously replaced by what looked like wheat ciabatta. The ciabatta was actually very dense and went well with the delicious keema. The presentation of this is lovely. It is a small meal in itself. The bread won our hearts! It is a pretty yummy and healthy meal. It also comes with salad. Just squeeze in some lemon on the keema and gorge on nutritious food!
4. Pumpkin Risotto: This risotto not only looks oh-so-good but also tastes delicious. It has pumpkin and leafy veggies that we don't normally opt for while dining out, but it has a pretty lovely cheesy taste to it. You can't taste the pumpkin or the leafy veggies at all. We absolutely loved this risotto and it is probably the best we've ever tasted! It isn't spicy at all yet has delicious flavours that is making our mouths water while penning down this review. Definitely coming back here for this amazing risotto! Highly Recommended!
5. Fusion Pasta: This pasta has a thick sauce which definitely has a lot of tomatoes in it. It isn't loaded with tons of cheese to make it finger licking good like most of the restaurants do. The taste comes from fresh, organic veggies and we liked this a lot. It is the tastiest healthy pasta one can find without too much cheese!
6. Keto Brownie: This brownie is made out of almond flour and you can actually taste the almonds without being too overpowering. The texture is like a cookie yet not that crispy. It is a cross between a cookie and cake. The texture is very crumbly but it is delicious. It isn't sweet enough to our liking, but that's what makes it keto friendly and we have a huge sweet tooth. It has just a hint of sweetness to it.
Overall, we liked the concept of the whole health aspect of it. The service was good especially for a cafe that has opened very recently. We wish Team Green Village Cafe all the best for the new venture!
Thanks for sharing the great post.
